Question of the Day: Would you be willing to “dumpster dive” for a cool project?

I’m still using a filing cabinet my good friend and I took off the street over 15 years ago. Hey, it still works and I got it for free. Life is good.

Have a great over the hump day!!

Thanks for sharing my headboard! Oh, and I probably wouldn’t dumpster dive, but I definitely will pick up things off the side of the road. =)

Keep up the great work Ashley. I agree, I’d pull stuff off the street before literally diving into a dumpster :)

“dumpster diving” i always say i am a dumpster diver but i have not ever actually been in a dumpster….. i have gone out looking on the night before trash day to see what would be going into a dumpster that i might redo though and have found some pretty incredible stuff xx

It is pretty interesting to see what you can find. Like a DIY scavenger hunt. I’ve seen perfectly good doors, desks, cabinets…. Now you’ve got me wanting to do this tonight, it’s garbage day tomorrow ;)

I really like the idea of turning an unused closet into an office. Thanks for sharing these ideas! And I don’t mind looking around dumpsters for some diy materials.

I love that project too. It looks great. Yep, I’d be okay rummaging through tossed items to find something that can be salvaged. Half full construction dumpsters have a lot if potential :)

Some fabulous projects here! I’ve picked up things from the side of the road, and once something that was leaning between the dumpster and the wall, but never actually gone into the dumpster. ;)

Lol, I’m mostly opposed to dumpster diving due to rusty nails and strange cats. But anything on the street is fair game. It’s crazy what you’ll find.
