This tutorial shares important Delta acrylic tub installation tips.
Here’s the deal though, these tips are helpful for other acrylic tubs, too!
So let’s dive in and explore how to properly install this tub.
Delta Acrylic Tub Tips
Acrylic bathtubs are great but they can be very flexible.
And this in turn can cause them to crack…if installed incorrectly.
What can you do to prevent an acrylic tub from breaking over time?
Step one, read the darn directions!
For example, this Delta acrylic tub required a mortar bed. So Quikrete Type S mortar was used to support the base of the tub.
Second, pre-drill holes in the tub flange for screws. Not pre-drilling can lead to a cracked flange or worse, cracked tub.
Third, use galvanized or stainless steel screws. Drywall screws are bad because they’ll corrode over time and break.
Our short tutorial has way more tips and will give you a great overview for installing any acrylic tub…but again, read the directions!
